Ballina is located within the Northern Rivers on the far north coast of New South Wales, just a one hour and twenty minute flight north of Newcastle. For the active traveller, the Ballina coastline has excellent beaches with a network of cycle paths. Enjoy the panoramic views over the river, ocean or estuaries and stop for a coffee at one of the many great spots along the cycle path. There are also many vantage spots en route for whale watching (May-Nov) and dolphin spotting. Learn to surf our famous right hand point break, Lennox Point at Lennox Head within the national surf reserve. Or spend a lazy day swimming, reading and basking in the sun.
